How Far Will the Birmingham Apartment Market Stretch?

Downtown Birmingham already had hundreds of apartment units in various stages of announcements.
But this week’s surge of project announcements took the trend to a whole new level. In the past three days, we have reported on three downtown apartment projects that could total 500 units if all are completed as planned.
Those new projects add to a list that already several renovations of historic properties into multifamily properties and ground-up developments like LIV Parkside and L&N Parkside.
Are we seeing the start of an apartment bubble in Birmingham or is this just the market reacting to an unfilled demand?
